Noemi Pfister (*1991) was born and raised in Locarno. Between 2014 and 2017, she studied visual arts at HEAD in Geneva, specializing in painting. In 2018, she moved to Basel, where she still lives and works and where in 2019 she received a master’s degree in Contemporary Art Practice from HGK. After graduation, she co-founded PALAZZINA, an off-space and artist house in Basel, where she lives and organizes exhibitions collectively with other artists. In 2020 she received a studio in Klingental subsidized by the city of Basel and in 2021 she won the Kunstkredit Werkbeitrag prize. She got nominated for the Swiss Art Awards in 2023. In her art practice, through the mediums of painting and drawing, she questions the representation of the figure of the outsider, the marginalized, the one who is considered different.
